The Children’s Services Council of Okeechobee will not hold an August meeting.  The next meeting will be on September 4, 2025.  This will be the first public meeting of the tentative millage rate and budget for the 25-26 fiscal year.  The Council will also meet on September 15, 2025, for the final public hearing on the millage rate and budget for the 25-26 fiscal year.  Both meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. at 700 SW 2nd Ave, Okeechobee, Florida 34974, room 303.

2025 Summer Activity Mini grants are available for Okeechobee County organizations for children ages 0-18.

In 1990, Okeechobee County residents voted to establish a special district of local government to levy local property taxes to help children reach their full potential. The Children’s Services Council of Okeechobee County makes best use of the tax dollars by investing in children’s prevention and intervention strategies that provide long term savings to the community as well as long term benefits to children and families.
